Bridlington Parrot Sanctuary

Parrot Rescue Information!

Bridlington Parrot Sanctuary is a free rescue and welfare service for all types of parrots and other exotic birds, including doves, lovebirds, budgerigars, and mynahs.

We accept birds of all sizes, ages, and health conditions, with a special emphasis on the treatment and rehabilitation of sick or injured birds.

We are not a rehoming service that places birds to live alone all day in cages. Instead, we want them to have the freedom to fly and socialize with other birds as part of a flock, promoting natural social behaviors.

All rescued birds reside permanently in our indoor and outdoor aviaries located in Bridlington. We also offer a collection service throughout Northern England, or you are welcome to bring your birds to us directly.

If you own a parrot or exotic bird and need our assistance, or if you are unable to continue caring for your bird, please do not hesitate to contact us. For free support and advice, simply fill out our Contact Form.

Important Bird Welfare Information!

Exotic tropical birds such as parrots, parakeets, cockatiels, budgerigars, lovebirds, and finches are not only fascinating but also make beautiful and engaging pets.

However, many owners lack the necessary knowledge to provide proper care, and life circumstances can sometimes make it challenging to maintain the ideal environment these birds require.

Without adequate care, birds may experience a range of health problems including nutritional deficiencies, stress, boredom, loneliness, and other related issues.

The international pet trade has unfortunately endangered many wild exotic bird species. Non-profit bird sanctuaries strive to provide a safe refuge for some of these birds, although space is often limited, especially for those whose owners can no longer care for them.

There are many more birds in need of foster care from compassionate and informed individuals who understand their specific needs. If you are considering adding a bird to your family, please think about fostering a homeless bird instead of purchasing a new one, helping to give these birds a second chance at a happy life.
